Based on the governor’s executive order and after discussions with our fire chief and emergency preparedness manager, River Heights City has banned all fireworks within city boundaries until further notice. The city will revisit this decision for Pioneer Day weekend based on weather, fire, and drought circumstances and after state officials assess conditions.
The governor’s order allows commercial fireworks shows that have an approved fire plan, so, for example, Logan City’s July 3rd fireworks display will continue as planned. Dozens of America 250 events are planned across Cache Valley, so there are plenty of ways to celebrate.
